What other earthly product is simultaneously beverage, condiment, social statement, peace-maker, poetry, liquid encouragement, and product of hard manual labor?
Wine holds an utterly unique place in our human experience. What better topic to talk about? What better product to enjoy and celebrate on a daily basis?
I live in the Napa Valley because wine’s hedonistic, open-minded culture reigns supreme here—and also because it is breathtakingly beautiful.
I love to see tradition and innovation living side by side, and comparing notes instead of fighting to the death. I also love the wonderful gastronomic options and diversity of California, and the new culture of celebrating local terroir every day, and every meal.
Bref, I am passionately interested in the ways wine interacts with culture and cuisine, and the delicious, sensory fireworks that result.
I am a freelance writer and consultant on all things food and wine and sometimes an attorney too.
